Invoices and customers sync from Service VIN into QuickBooks today, so your bookkeeper stops re-typing every job, and payment sync plus film-cost (COGS) posting are rolling out. It's an opt-in, per-shop connection you authorize with a secure QuickBooks sign-in and can revoke in one click.
Will it create duplicate customers in my books?
No — customers are matched to your existing QuickBooks records where they exist and created cleanly where they don't, so the sync doesn't litter your ledger with duplicates of the same person.
Does it post film cost to my P&L?
Payment sync and COGS posting are the next pieces rolling out in the beta. When COGS posting lands, the real material cost Service VIN already tracks per job — film costed to the foot — can post to your books, so your profit-and-loss reflects true margin rather than revenue alone.
Is it safe to connect my accounting software?
Yes. The connection uses least-privilege OAuth — Service VIN asks only for the access the sync needs — and the tokens are encrypted at rest with a key kept out of the database. Per-shop isolation means one shop can never see another's connection, and you can disconnect instantly, which drops the tokens and stops the sync.
Do you also sync with Xero?
Yes — the same accounting sync is available for Xero in beta, pointed at your Xero ledger instead of QuickBooks. Pick whichever your shop already keeps its books in.
